Two-deck tableau · sequence planning

How to play Spider Solitaire

Spider gives you a wide tableau to organize. In the four-suit game represented here, two decks make every exposed card and empty column matter.

  1. Build down in the tableau

Arrange exposed cards in descending rank. A complete same-suit King-to-Ace run can be cleared from the tableau.

  2. Reveal the hidden cards

A move that uncovers a face-down card creates information and new options. Favor moves that open useful cards without scattering a promising run.

  3. Plan before dealing

A stock deal adds one card to each tableau pile. In this variant, every tableau pile must be occupied before you deal; an empty column is valuable working space until then.

  4. Know the variant

Spider comes in one-, two-, and four-suit forms. Deck count and difficulty change; check the exact rules in the selected game before applying a tip.

Try it

Before a stock deal, look for one safe move that reveals a card and one run you want to keep together.
