Pairing puzzle · sum to thirteen
How to play Pyramid Solitaire
Pyramid replaces tableau-building with a pairing puzzle. Cards are removed in pairs that total thirteen; a King is worth thirteen and can be removed alone.
Use only available cards
A card in the pyramid is available when no cards overlap it. Stock and waste availability depends on the exact variant.
Pair values that total thirteen
Ace is one, Jack eleven, Queen twelve, and King thirteen. Pair exposed values such as Ace and Queen, Two and Jack, or Six and Seven.
Remove Kings alone
A King already totals thirteen, so it moves to the foundation without a partner.
Watch what each removal uncovers
A pair can expose one or more pyramid cards. Prefer pairs that open useful choices while keeping possible partners in view.
Try it
Choose a covered card you want to reveal, then trace which available pair removes the cards above it.
Solitaire rules vary between named games and variants. Use the in-app Rules and teaching controls for the exact board you choose.
